10. Jason Lee, $18 million

Jason Michael Lee was a professional skateboarder in the late 80s and early 90s before becoming an actor in sitcoms and movies. Lee co-founded a skateboard deck manufacturing company called Stereo Skateboards in 1992. After lying defunct for many years, it was revived successfully again in 2003. Lee earned majority of his net worth through his roles in Hollywood TV series and movies, still making him one of the millionaire skateboarders of America.

9. Shaun White, $20 million

One of the richest skateboarders of all time, Shaun Roger White holds the X Games records for highest overall medal count. He has won 10 ESPY Awards. Nicknamed “The Flying Tomato”, White is better known as 2-time Olympic champion, having won the gold medal twice but in a different sport, that of snowboarding. With over $2 million per endorsement deal, Shaun White is in the list of millionaire skateboarders.

A man of many talents, Stefan Janoski is one of America’s richest skateboarders. Known for his “switch-stance” skills in skateboarders’ circles, Janoski is also an artist, writer and musician. He also has his own signature shoe model called Nike SB, the skateboarding line from Nike and also one of the most popular skating shoes in the world. At the age of 35, he is also one of the youngest millionaire skateboarders.

7. Rodney Mullen, $30 million

A massive influence in the skateboarding world, Rodney Mullen is viewed as the Godfather of street skating. Inventor of many popular skateboarding tricks such as the heelflip, the kickflip and many more, Mullen is also an entrepreneur and founder of World Industries that makes skateboarding products, accessories and clothing. Rodney Mullen was also actor Ben Stiller’s skateboarding body double in the movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Mullen is one of the richest skateboarders today and appears regularly as a public speaker at various events.

Brandon Cole “Bam” Margera started skateboarding and making prank videos with his friends under the label CKY (Camp Kill Yourself). He came to prominence through MTV’s prank show Jackass. He eventually left skateboarding to take up acting and stunt performing. Margera has appeared in all 3 Jackass movies and in few other MTV shows such as Viva La Bam. He has since become one of America’s millionaire skateboarders.

5. Rick Howard, $45 million

Rick Howard is a Canadian professional skateboarder and one of the richest skateboarders of all time. He made his millions with his skateboarding company Girl Skateboards and footwear company Lakai Limited Footwear. Owing to his popularity in the 90s, Rick even has a movie called Rick Flip attributed to him.

Nicknamed “The Chief” in skateboarders’ world, Jamie Thomas is one of the most talented skateboarders in the world. He started skateboarding at the age of 11 and became a pro in just 7 years at the age of 18 in 1992. He is one of the richest skateboarders in the world thanks to Zero Skateboards and Fallen Footwear, two very successful companies that he launched as an entrepreneur.

3. Rob Dyrdek, $50 million

Founder of the first pro league competition for street skateboarding, Street League Skateboarding, Rob Dyrdek is a man of many hats. Apart from being a professional skateboarder, he is also an actor, producer and reality TV show personality starring in Rob and Big, Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory and Ridiculousness. He set 21 world records on his shows. Rob also has a Nickelodeon cartoon and a hip-hop record label, together making him one of the richest skateboarders in history.

Stavros Niarchos III is a professional skater but is perhaps more famous for other reasons than his skating skills, like Bam Margera. Stavros Niarchos III is the grandson of a Greek shipping tycoon and inherited a considerable chunk of that fortune, making him one of the few millionaire skateboarders.

1. Tony Hawk – $120 million

Tony Hawk aka The Birdman is a skateboarding legend. He is well known for completing the first documented 2.5-revolution aerial spin called 900. He is credited as the pioneer of modern vertical skateboarding. Tony is the owner of skateboarding company Birdhouse and has licensed video game titles, published by Activision. He has skateboarded in front of the New York Stock Exchange and performed many stunts. In 2002 Tony founded an extreme sports exhibition called Boom Boom Huckjam. Tony is one of the millionaire skateboarders who have also acted in movies such as Jackass: 3D, The Simpsons and Sesame Street.
